WHY GOURDS?

Gourds are more than just natural fruits.

They are quiet creations shaped by time, carrying beauty, function, and history in their simplest form.

Each one grows uniquely, formed entirely by nature, making no two pieces ever the same.

If you look closer, you’ll discover a story worthy of exploring within something so simple.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Hello:)

I’m Haoying (How’Ying), founder of G HOME.

My passion for gourds began with a chance encounter in Mexico, where I discovered that gourd folk objects—so familiar from my Chinese upbringing—also thrived in another culture’s traditions. That moment revealed gourds as a unifying thread linking people across continents and time. At G HOME, we celebrate humanity’s first domesticated plant by honoring its ancient history through modern design.

I invite you to join me on this journey of creativity, global connection, and meaningful design.

Why Us

Gourd Material Research

Material Research

Every piece begins with a deep study of the gourd — its natural geometry, cultural lineage, and structural capability. We work with what the material already knows how to do.

Cultural Continuity

Cultural Continuity

Rather than reproducing traditional forms, we ask how a historically universal material can meet contemporary domestic life without discarding the meaning it already carries.

Intuitive

Intuitive Use

Our objects are designed to be touched, used, and discovered. Function is not secondary to form — it is the form.
